British Values

At St John with St Mark CE Primary School we promote the basic British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, tolerance and respect for those of different faiths and beliefs. We celebrate our diversity and understand that within this diversity there is strength.  We believe that the spiritual, moral, social and cultural education of our children is underpinned by our curriculum and supports the development of the whole child. 

Our children have the opportunity to be recognised, celebrated and rewarded for positive learning behaviours and attitudes towards themselves and others.  All children belong to a ‘St John with St Mark Team’ with points given for positive behaviour and half-termly rewards for the leading Team.  The children learnt about influential people from many different backgrounds, cultures and it was decided that our school would adopt the following Teams;

• Simmonds Ellie),
• Brown (Sky) and
• Ennis-Hill (Jessica).
